Packaging Guidelines

This guide collects essential instructions for preparing proper packaging. Failure to comply with the specifications described here results in exclusion from any form of compensation. The packaging must protect products from impacts, falls, and vibrations, acting as a shock absorber to preserve the integrity of the contents.

Essential Steps

Basic rules to apply to every shipment to reduce the risk of damage.

  • Use a double-wall corrugated cardboard box, suitable for weight and dimensions, securely stackable.
  • Wrap each item individually with cushioning material suitable for weight, dimensions, and type of goods.
  • Place products separated from each other, leaving at least 5 cm from the walls; fill gaps to prevent movement.
  • Close and seal the box with strong packaging tape.

External Packaging

Select and prepare the external container so that it resists the entire transport chain.

  • Prefer a new double-wall corrugated cardboard box, strong and durable.
  • Choose dimensions based on the weight and size of the goods.
  • Courtesy labels (fragile, high/low, do not bend, etc.) do not guarantee special treatment: the packaging must withstand a free fall of at least 80 cm.
  • For bulky or heavy loads, use wooden or plastic pallets for a stable base.

Internal Packaging

Protect the contents with materials suitable for dissipating impacts and preventing friction and direct contact.

  • Cushioning materials: absorb and disperse the energy from impacts and vibrations.
  • Fillers: fill empty spaces to prevent movement and internal collisions.
  • Separators: keep products spaced apart, avoiding contact that could cause damage.

Important Warnings

Non-compliant materials or solutions may invalidate any claim.

  • Improvised packaging (simple cardboard, newspapers, clothes, blankets, comforters, etc.) is not considered suitable cushioning.
  • Cardboard, paper, plastic, or padded envelopes do not provide protection from impacts.

Package Sealing

A robust closure prevents accidental opening and reinforces the structure.

  • Use quality packaging tape at least 50 mm wide.
  • Apply H-seal tape to all openings, top and bottom, for effective closure.
  • Protect edges and corners with expanded polyethylene profiles to distribute pressure and avoid damage.

Shipping Documentation

Labels and documents must be clearly visible and firmly attached.

  • Transport label: use adhesive labels and apply them to one external side in a clearly visible position.
  • Customs documents: insert them in a transparent self-sealing adhesive envelope, attached to the outside.
  • For shipments to/from non-EU countries, a customs invoice is mandatory.
