Shipping Labels: Are They Mandatory?

Most services available on Parcel Node require printing and applying the label to the package. During service selection, a notice will indicate if printing is required. Even when not explicitly mandatory, we still recommend applying the label to ensure identification and traceability.

When It Is Mandatory

If during service selection a message appears requesting printing, the label must be printed and attached to the package before delivery or pickup.

How to Print and Apply the Label

If you don't have adhesive paper, you can print on regular sheets and attach the label with packaging tape. Make sure the barcode remains fully readable and is not covered, folded, or damaged.

Exceptions Without Printing

If no notice appears, some carriers apply the label directly in the warehouse. In these cases, it's not essential to have a printer, although it's still good practice to include an identifying document.

Proof of Pickup or Drop-off Point Delivery

You must be able to prove that pickup at home or delivery at a drop-off point has occurred: print a second copy to be signed by the carrier or request and keep the drop-off point receipt until delivery is completed.

Why Always Apply the Label

The label facilitates transport and reduces operational errors.

  • Allows online package tracking.
  • Confirms to the carrier that the shipment has already been paid.
  • Contains essential recipient and service data.
  • Serves as proof of pickup or drop-off point delivery.

No Extra Fees for Pickup or Drop-off

Home pickup or drop-off delivery does not involve additional payments. If you are asked for an amount, the label was likely not printed or applied correctly.

Check Shipping Status

After applying the label correctly, you can check the package status on the carrier's website using the tracking number.
